" There is no reason that ANY Catholic school or church in America should ever close. "

This bold, demonstrative statement is what Dr. Maguire has confronted fellow Catholics with for the better part of the last decade.

It is not designed to cross swords with church administrators or those who must make the difficult decision to close one of our institutions.

It is purposely stated, so that people of our faith may become aware that we have before us the very mechanism to sustain our institutions.

We, as an informed group can direct our " Catholic capital " to benefit our churches and schools.

At present, we send our mandated tax dollars to Washington and exercise no control over what is done with them.

Many times, programs are funded that run counter to our moral sensibilites, yet we must passively, if not grudgingly, accept such use of our tax dollars.

Do not interpret this entreaty as any anti-government rambling against taxation, as that is certainly not the intent.

Our intent is singular in focus and that is to have our Catholic population, that is 76,000,000 nationwide and makes up nearly 24% of the entire 308,000,000 people of our country, to understand that they can direct their " Catholic capital " to our institutions.

More importantly, they will learn that by "partnering ", so to speak, with their church or school, they will receive tax benefits that far surpass what would be available to them as an individual taxpayer.

There is never any cost to your institution nor to the Catholic members of an institution for the services we provide.

Lastly, this entire program can be administered internally by a volunteer member that matches our criteria.

This member will be trained over the Internet, from our studio, and can have this program operationally benefiting your institution within a month.

Every parish in the nation needs to have a ministry of sustainability.
