The original Church Trust was formed in 2001, as a division of New York Trust when Dr. Francis John Maguire, Ph.D. was witnessing the consolidation of churches and the closing of schools in Jersey City.
These were the churches and schools of his youth and he sought out a strategy to help them. At that time it was, essentially a localized, grass roots movement with churches being told:
" No church or school should ever close when supporters have the very means within their grasp to direct their Catholic capital to their church, as opposed to Washington, D.C. where it is utilized in programs that offend our moral and ethical sensibilities, while we must grudgingly stand-by with no effective voice. "
Just what comprises the Ministry of Sustainability?
A person from the congregation, skilled in the strategies that benefit church members and their families with tax advantaged planning that is not available to individuals.
These proprietary strategies that we developed are, in fact, only accessible when a person " partners ". so to speak, with their church that is a recognized 501 (c) organization.
A Ministry of Sustainability should be an integral factor in every church in America.
